Lentil Soup For The Soul: Healing One Spoon at a Time

Gentle Nourishment For a Weary Heart

🌿 Intro / Reflection

There are days when life feels heavy and uncertain — when our hearts crave peace more than anything else.
This lentil soup is a quiet reminder that God restores gently.
Every spoonful brings comfort, warmth, and the steady truth that even in seasons of stillness, healing is happening.

🍴 Ingredients

1 cup dried lentils (rinsed)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 carrots, diced

2 potatoes, diced

1 tomato, chopped (or 1 tablespoon tomato paste)

4 cups vegetable or chicken broth

1 teaspoon cumin (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish

🔥 Instructions

  1. Sauté base: In a pot, heat olive oil and sauté onions until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.

  3. Add lentils & broth: Add lentils, pour in the broth, and bring to a boil.
  4. Season: Add cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer: Lower the heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes until lentils and vegetables are tender.
  6. Blend (optional): Blend half the soup for a creamy texture, then return it to the pot.
  7. Serve hot, topped with parsley and a thankful heart. 🌿

✨ Faith Reflection

Like lentils softening in gentle heat, our hearts soften in God’s presence.
He doesn’t rush our healing — He restores slowly, beautifully, and completely.
So take a moment, breathe deeply, and trust the process.
